I am a bad blogger...

I am a bad blogger. Blogs should be updated regularly. It's part of the blogging credo. I'm a rebel though. I live outside the rules. And I choose to blog sparingly. So there.

Anyway, enough of that weirdness. So, really the title of this post should be "M JACK WILL NEVER DIE". The new video iPod has been out for a little while now, along with the new version of iTunes which lets you download music videos and a few tv shows for 1.99 a piece. Now all of this might not be old news to some of you, but have any of you closely inspected the Top 20 Videos in the past couple days? Well if not, let me point out a few interesting items:
1) Weapon of Choice - Fatboy Slim - this goes to show that Christopher Walken is an awesome dancer. Who wouldn't want this on their desktop or in the palm of their hand? This was the first video I downloaded.
2) U2 videos take up 7 of the top 20 spots! Craziness.
3) But really most importantly, the most telling is M Jack, with Thriller at #2, Smooth Criminal at #14, and Billie Jean at #17. And in the past 2 days, the last 2 have moved up a few spots. M Jack, pedophile though he may be, was a musical genius. Where that genius went, I do not know. But I sure wish it would come back.

It really is an interesting statement about popular music today, which by and large, sucks giant monkey butt. And the fact that we reach back towards icons from 20 years ago, including possibly pedaphilic ones, to satiate our pop music cravings really speaks to that fact. So we either need to get M Jack in therapy so he can whip out more amazing hits in the future, or music companies need to scour the globe for pop music geniuses. We are in dire need of a pop music revolution. Who will be our savior?

M Jack? I thought it was Wacko Jacko. Yeah I don't know where all that musical genius went either. Interestingly enough MJ's best song ever ("Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'") wasn't listed in that top 20. This is the best song ever - fact. Alhtough I suppose it's not so great of a video, but still BEST SONG EVER.

You have inspired me to update my blog. I am, also, a bad blogger.

The only music video worth paying for is "Southern California" by Wax...best music video ever by far.
