A Foreshadowing of Greatness...

I am currently reading a journal that I started to write in when I was 11 years old. I had meant to burn or shred these journals a long time ago, but since I don't have a fireplace or a shredder I have just moved them around with me so I can keep a watchful eye on them. I think I'm going to put them in some sort of electronic format before I destroy them because some of the entries are really unintentionally hilarious. At least to me.

Here is one such gem:

Saturday 11-21-92

Dear Journal,

I made a poem today! Here it is!

"I was sitting in the parlor thinking about my sin.
Oh! What a way to let my day begin,
My sin was I put something to heat
I didn't care enough to let the heat be beat.
I was not stupid enough to let another wrong to do,
So I called 911 and they answered 'You know who,'
I am surprised they were so calm with me,
What I had done couldn't they see,
Was It wrong or was it right,
To set the hay with dynamite,
And to this day I shall not do,
What I did to people like you,
What a shame I have been,
Oh, what a way to let my day begin!"

I think I am not creative when I clean the house.

Yesterday we sold 29 calendars at the booth.

Uncle George is here! That's all that happened today! Chow!

Poetic Poet,
Carmini

P.S. Today I watched Jackson's

I think the poem can stand by itself without any editorial notes, but I will say that I don't know of an Uncle George, nor do I know why I would be so excited to see him. And I think I didn't watch "Jackson's," I think it was actually a special on the Jackson 5. My parents are a bit obsessed with that whole family, so we would watch specials or tv movies about them whenever they were on. Anyway, does anyone see the sweet hint of greatness that would eventually fully blossom? I certainly do.
